Ulrik López
(México DF, México, 1989)

The work of Ulrik López is concerned with the exchange and circulation of objects, and their transition from ideas to phenomenons in relation to space.
López understands his practice as that of an amateur forensic, or an archaeologist, that interprets materials and images in order to convey all the coded information they might contain a priori. Through this approach, he treats objects and materials as fossils awaiting interpretation and readings, and therefore uses their capacity to communicate ideas and information; as a vehicle and a foundation for his pieces addressing issues of perception and representation.
